Avec Le Coeur Et La Raison : traduction de Français vers Anglais

Hozn fi Qalbi (X4)

For those who are chased from their homes
I write this text with heart and reason
I can't help it if the truth scares you
But I'm neither blind nor deaf nor mute
To remain silent is sometimes to condone violence and lawlessness
I will not be an accomplice to silence
Being anti-colonialist is not being anti-Semitic
I'm just a man with a sense of justice
I only have words for trellis
For those who are treated as strangers in their own country
For those who have been dispossessed, stolen
Who have seen their most fundamental rights violated
Tragic legacy of unjust decisions
Taken under British mandate
Since the Balfour declaration we are sinking
To understand the present, understand where history begins
Deprive a people of self-determination
Share its lands without any consultation

Observe the drama of colonization
Two options, struggle or resignation
Palestine was not a land without people
Destined to welcome a people without land
There is indeed an occupant and an occupied
There is indeed an oppressor and an oppressed
To deny it is to try to erase history
And erasing history is refusing to repair it
There is indeed an aggressor and a victim
A colonizer and a Palestinian resistor
It is a question of established facts, not of point of view
My reason can hold on even if my heart is moved
It is not about two equal forces clashing
The media talk about war what a shame
The 3rd armed power facing a nation without a state
More than 1000 for 10 at the last Intifada
Is this war?
Despite all they endure
The Palestinians resist, the Palestinians exist
I have rarely seen such a brave people
Its pride shines like the sun even in stormy weather
I can't disassociate myself
Just as a human being I can't not position myself
It's a call to share their pain
But the ignorant will say it's a call to hate
We do not feed injustice by denouncing it but by silencing it
Whatever they say I write with heart and reason

Hozn fi Qalbi (X2)
I have sorrow in my heart
When I think of Palestine
I have a wound in my heart
And I love you (X2)

No peace in the occupation
Everyday occupation is humiliation
Humiliation is violent, constant
At the borders of checkpoints, freedom is agonizing
I write the distress of a nation
Who on its own lands no longer has free movement
Under the guise of security, apartheid is disguised
And the wall separates families
Colonies multiply under the passive and complicit eye of the United States
Endless negotiations for the creation of a Palestinian state
But when the time comes, what will be left?
A few scattered pieces of land
At the time I write this text, nearly 3/4 have been plundered
Nearly a million human beings have been pushed into exile
Why leave their land if their lives were not in danger?
And their goods have become theirs
Hopes of return have become lures
Have you heard of the so-called law of the absent?
The property of refugees returns to the occupation
Who can claim to find this normal?
Who can claim that I should remain impartial?
To remain impartial when injustice is blatant
You have to be deaf with a blind morality
History will testify that I stood up as best I could
While the great powers watch them die
Everyone talks about human rights but does not prevent the massacre
UN sanctions are only applicable to Iraq
Orphans are no longer counted
Bullets that have lost themselves in the chests of children
How many infants under the rubble
Entire families decimated by bombs
From so-called "targeted" assassinations striking civilians
From arbitrary imprisonments
Tell me, do you think I should keep quiet?
I'm supposed to live in a democracy
Yet I'm afraid when I reread what I write
Everything is based on facts but I still fear the storm
I write with heart, reason and courage...

Hozn fi Qalbi (X2)
I have sorrow in my heart
When I think of Palestine
I have sorrow in my heart
With heart and reason
And I love you
With heart and reason
And I love you

With the heart but also with reason
I can't finish this piece without specifying that
This text does not target a community but targets the policy of a state and the complicit silence of the so-called "free" world
I am aware that in each camp, I mean in each camp, there are people who are fighting for things to change, who are fighting for peace and justice and I can only salute their courage and sincerity
I deplore the death of innocents on both sides. Who can rejoice in seeing children die? They who did not choose, the heirs of a world that adults bequeath to them
I write this text, a manifesto of my active support, to the peaceful, to the Palestinians. Not only because there are Muslims among them because, contrary to popular belief and ingrained in the collective unconscious, Palestinian Arabs are not all Muslims
I support them because I believe, with heart and reason, that they are suffering an injustice and it is important for them that the world knows while waiting for the world to move
It is not about importing the conflict into France in a stupid and violent way by unjustly attacking people, their property and degrading cemeteries. These are things that I do not endorse and that I clearly condemn
I hope, I always hope to see peace in justice rise on the horizon and I write with heart and reason

Hozn fi Qalbi (X2)
I have sorrow in my heart
When I think of Palestine
I have sorrow in my heart
And I love you (X2)
