Twinkling little stars there
In the heavens blue
I have often wondered
If you ever knew?

How a star just like you
Led some very wise men
From the east through Judah
Down to Bethlehem

Did you see the precious gifts that they had brought?
Did you see the stable
Which they eagerly sought?

Did you see how tenderly they worshipped there?
Where a stranger baby
Lay in manger bed

Did you hear the mothers pleading, see their tears?
For the babies Herod killed the next two years

Did you see how God warned Joseph in a dream?
See him go to Egypt
Led there by your peace

Did you watch dear Jesus through those years of strife?
Did you know for sinners
He would give His life?

All you saw, oh how I wish
