Played Mario Brothers with my son
Always felt excited when I won
I started feeling guilty though
Such a waste of time you know

My son kept playing on
Sometimes he played 'till dawn
I criticized him once
Now I feel like a dunce

He's an officer in the Space Force now
I hope he can forgive me somehow
He controls satellites today
Mario Brothers helped pave the way
All that game-time was not lost
He protects our country at all cost
