Here I am at 68
And still writing verse
Share my writes on all poetry
It could be a whole lot worse

Performed my music as a young lad
Played guitar sang some too
Did quite well I might add
Wrote some songs
And had my own band

Things didn't work
Out as I had planned
Life can roll
On a different direction
When passing through
A milestone intersection
It's alright I had a great career

Kept on writing
Didn't let that interfere
Now that I'm retired it's all ok
I enjoy the good life
Wouldn't have it another way

I still write songs
And perform my guitar
Maybe there's still hope
To become a big star
