I raise my hands in victory while taking in the breath-taking view
After my exhausting yet rewarding journey
The feeling of exhilarating freedom pulses through my numb hands
Which attempt to absorb the warmth of the glowing and graceful sun
It gleams bright on the horizon and reveals the silver lining of the supporting clouds
They float over many tall and majestic trees which lead to a long and winding valley in the distance
Some birds soar over the scenery and call out in a catchy chant
As if to congratulate my achievement
A salty tear of joy then rushes down to the cut on my left cheek
Reassuring that it will heal in time
I inspect my worn yet still intact coat
Which is now filled with small holes
Before moving down to my right leg
Which still feels very sensitive and sore
After bandaging and taking care of my other cuts and scars, I close my eyes
And deeply breathe in the fresh and cool mountain air
Hold it for a few moments
And then release it slowly and steadily
Before opening my eyes once again to the awe-inspiring view
I then quickly glance at the next peak up above
While maintaining my well-deserved pride and happiness
Although there will be more challenges up ahead
I know I can face them
As I have and will continue to prove to myself
that I am strong in my heart, soul, body, and mind
