I’m a Sloth
I’m not known for my racing abilities
You won’t find me on a race track
I’m extremely slow
It would take me at least 10 hours to walk a mile on ground.
I am more suitable for climbing trees where I prefer to hang upside down and hold on with my feet that have claws and my limbs to grab hold of the tree branches.

There are two and three towed sloths depending on their species.

Sloths can not see in bright daylight.

I’m nocturnal and can sleep for up to 20 hours in the canopy of the forest which is the highest level formed by the trees.

Sloths have some similarities to anteaters but do not eat ants like their counterparts.

Sloths eat vegetation as that’s all they can digest and their metabolism is very slow.

There are some sloths that live in zoos all around the world and they are very interesting to watch as they hang upside down in the trees.

Sloths are known to live in the tropical rainforests of South and Central America where they are most suited.

We give thanks to the Giant Sloths who ate avocados whole and were able to deposit the seeds to the earth through their call to nature which resulted in the growth of avocados though many of these sloths went extinct over time.

Giant Sloths date back as far as 35 million years ago but went extinct though the avocado is their lasting legacy and gift to the world.

Sloths are cute animals and are loved by children.

The sloth is portrayed on the big screen and one popular movie that features the Sloth is Zootopia.

In the movie the fox, Nick Wilde and rabbit, Judy Hopps visit at the DMV to visit Nick’s friend, the sloth, Flash to obtain information.

In the scene involving Flash it is evident how slow the sloth operates as it goes from day to night before the information is provided to Judy Hopps to her incredible frustration while Nick jokes with his friend further delaying Flash.

Sloths are truly beautiful and peek children’s curiosity.
