I’m a Rabbit

I’m a furry little creature.

I have floppy ears.

I love to run around outside.

I see the kittens inside looking outside at me wishing they could trade places.

I do love being outside but find the winter months very difficult so I look for warm places to stay at those times.

I also like to hang around with my rabbit friends as it’s much easier when you have others to socialize with.

My favorite time of the year is the spring and my holiday of choice is Easter because rabbits and chicks are celebrated and a major theme of the Easter holiday.

I like seeing the houses I visit all decorated with Easter bunnies, chickadees and Easter eggs.

I like seeing the children all dressed up and carrying their Easter baskets with chocolate bunnies, marshmallow chickadees and jelly beans.

I prefer carrots myself but I know kids love candies.

I’m a gentle animal but I’m hardened by living outside.

Some of my rabbit friends live on a farm and others live in their owners houses but I live outside and have to fend for myself so life for me is more challenging because I have to always be on the lookout for my safety and I have to find my own food and place to sleep.

When I see cats inside their owners homes warm, protected and fed I get a little jealous but I realize that I’m able to take care of myself and I am self sufficient.

That’s nature. Some animals are meant to be domesticated and live indoors and others are meant for the outside.

I do appreciate when food and water is left outside for me.

That proves to me that there are caring people out there who recognize my needs too and I’m truly grateful.

I’m an early riser and like to roam around and I’m agile and small enough that I can hide in a pinch.

I can run very fast if my safety is threatened or if I’m comfortable with my surroundings and just want to sprint. I can run near 35 miles per hour but it’s very hard for me to maintain that speed for any long distance.

I’m a fun animal to be around and very easy to get along with.

I also enjoy the company of other animals when I’m living on a farm and love to be held and caressed by my owners.

I look forward to sunny days and a slight breeze when I run around outside because
