I’m a Puffin song lyrics by Emily Iannielli official

I’m a Puffin is a song in English

I’m a Puffin
I can fly high in the sky above the waters.

I also am an excellent swimmer of the sea.

I live at sea most of my life.

I can dive under water as that’s how I live.

That’s where I find my food.

I am dependent on fish for my diet.

The sea is plentiful for my hunt and I dive into the waters to catch my prey.

Puffins are beautiful birds who are very interesting in their appearance and how they live.

Although they fly they prefer living at sea and are excellent at diving in deep waters and swimming.

When they swim at sea they maneuver their wings and feet and can swim to depths of 200 feet under water.

They dive so deep for their food source.

Puffins have webbed feet for the sea and strong wings that serve them in the skies and in the waters.

They can swim at speeds of 10 miles per hour at sea and fly at speeds of 55 miles per hour in the sky and climb heights to 30 feet.

They’re truly fascinating birds that intrigue scientists and bird watchers alike with their incredible skills in swimming and flying.

Puffins are small birds that live in colonies nesting on cliffs overlooking oceans and seaways and on rocky islands surrounded by the sea, the beach and other waterways.

Puffins ride the waves when they sleep as they usually live at sea. They never live inland. They migrate flying to different locations but always at sea.

There are four species of puffins that live on this great earth.

The Atlantic puffin, horned puffin, tufted puffin and the rhinoceros auklet.

The Atlantic puffin lives in the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean.

The other species of puffins live in the Pacific Ocean.

Puffins live in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Arctic Circle.

Puffins and all forms of sea life are affected by global warming and climate change since the puffins live at sea and the fish they eat live in the seas.

The seas and ocean temperatures are rising which is affecting weather patterns and the marine ecosystem and environment posing great danger to these magnificent creatures of the sea.

Many are dying as a result and if our leaders don’t make changes to address these concerns we will lose these wonderful birds.

Puffins will go back to their nesting colonies to mate.

They are social birds when in their colony and on shore during mating season yet at sea they do live solitary lives.

Puffins when ready to go on their own take their plunge into the ocean to begin their lives at sea.

Puffins are loyal to their mate and they do live together and tend to their chicks making sure they’re ready when it’s time for them to embark on a seafaring adventurous life journey.

The average life expectancy of a puffin is 20 years.

Puffins have distinctive colors and a unique bill and are popular in the Northern Hemisphere where they live similar to the popularity of the Penguins which live in the Southern Hemisphere.

Project Puffin was launched in 1973 by the Audubon Society under direction of Dr. Stephen Kress who worked to restore the nesting habitat of puffins in the gulf of Maine and a visitor center was opened in 2006 to educate visitors of these amazing birds of the sea.

The Seal Island National Wildlife Refuge is a one mile island off the coast of Maine where many species of seabirds live including the Atlantic puffin.

It is a popular destination to see over a 100 species of seabirds in their colonies.

These birds must be protected and we must defend them and their habitat from predators, global warming, climate change and other environmental threats.

When you see puffins in these refuges you will fall in love with them.

I live at sea, I fly in the sky, I feast on fish. I urge you all to protect the earth, the oceans, the seas.

My life depends on it.

I’m a puffin.
