Paroles de la chanson I’m a Worm par Emily Iannielli lyrics officiel

I’m a Worm est une chanson en Anglais

I’m a Worm
I wiggle to move forward and backwards though

I’m usually moving forward forging ahead to get to food sources and hideouts.

I’m always navigating my way under ground and on the earth’s surface

I don’t have eyes to see with

I’m able to get around with my receptors which helps me distinguish between light and dark.

Under ground is dark

Above ground is light and dark

Worms can sense their surroundings and threats through vibrations.

Their bodies are sensitive to vibration and so if there are would be predators around the worm will move away to safety.

Worms are vulnerable so they must seek places to hide.

Worms have to stay clear of birds as they know the early bird catches the worm.

Worms dig their way on soil eating through it where they feast on insects and nutrients as they build tunnels.

Worms have existed on this great earth for over a billion years according to scientists who have discovered fossils in their research going that far back.

Worms come in all sizes. The smallest worm is the ocean nematode which is 0.08 mm and can be found everywhere and the largest worm is the Giant Gippsland earthworm native to Australia and is 3 feet in length possibly reaching up to 10 feet stretched out and weighs up to a half pound.

Worms are soft in texture and different from snakes.

Worms have no backbone while snakes do.

Snakes are predators, worms are parasites and decomposers.

Snakes are reptiles with scales on their skin surface and they have a distinctive head with eyes.

Worms are invertebrates with elongated bodies segmented and their head is not distinct. They don’t have eyes.

Certain species of worms can regenerate lost body parts including flatworms and planarian worms.

Snakes can not regenerate lost body parts.

Worms have a lifespan of between a few weeks to two years but some worms can live up to eight years and the deep sea tube worm is the all time champion of longevity living up to 250 years.

Earthworms are night crawlers as they emerge from the soil at night shielded from the sun to avoid drying out and dying in the day light.

Worms live everywhere in the world. They live in the soil, in gardens, in fields, on farmland and even in the water.

The most common worm is the earthworm. There are over 7,000 species of earthworms and over 20,000 species of worms in the world.

Earthworms dig through the soil creating their networks of tunnels.

They are very important to the earth’s ecosystem and help cultivate the soils as they forage through munching on what remains in the richness of the soils they inhabit leaving their mark as they dig through.

Earthworms are solitary creatures unlike ants and termites but they do find time to mate.

Baby earthworms hatch from eggs shaped like lemons and are protected in the cocoon and after hatching the hatchlings look like tiny earthworms and they grow into adulthood within 3 months and are on their own to start a new generation as they search for a mate.

I live in the soil hiding from daylight digging my tunnels while feasting on insects.

I’m a worm.
