I’m a Reindeer

There are many types of reindeer who live in all kinds of cold climates.

Not all reindeer work with Santa.

Reindeer come in all shapes and sizes.

The reindeer that work with Santa are a very small amount and we’re privileged to have such an opportunity.

You can see me at a special time of the year in December.

I live in the North Pole with all the other reindeer.

It’s very cold where we live but Santa, Mrs Claus and the elves take good care of us.

We work hard transporting Santa and his chief and senior elf by sleigh to deliver all the children’s Christmas presents under their Christmas trees all throughout the world on one night, December 24th so the presents are all delivered by Christmas Day.

We land on all the roofs of all the homes so we are constantly in flight and also making landings.

We position ourselves very carefully so we have safe landings and takeoffs.

We practice all year with our jumping, landing and takeoffs.

We are grateful for the water and milk and snacks left by the families to tide us over on our once a year journey in celebration of Jesus Christ’s birthday.

We have to make sure we get Santa to all the children’s houses on the Christmas list and we have to do it quickly, efficiently and always with pinpoint accuracy.

We have the most sophisticated navigation system to allow us to make our special rounds.

We have to make sure to fly safely and to visit all 7 continents so we have our work cut out for us but we’re grateful to have this assignment.

Everyone knows our lead reindeer because he has a bright red nose that lights up when necessary.

He’s loved by all the children of the world as are we.

We’re all special in our own ways.

Every child knows the song and they sing it every year at Christmastime in honor of Rudolph.

There are 9 reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh in flight with Rudolph in the lead and the eighth of us paired off following behind the most famous one of all.

We are all very important in our roles and rewarded for our efforts.

After making our world wide journey we venture back home where we celebrate and share our stories with all of Santa’s family including all the elves.

We are first monitored by Santa’s appointed veterinary team to make sure we have no injuries or health concerns.

Santa and his traveling elves are also monitored by the team doctors.

Once we’re all cleared health wise we have dinner together and are given our gifts and speeches are made on our behalf as we are awarded medals for our service to Santa for the benefit of all the children receiving their gifts.

We then get a well deserved rest before we start preparing for next year.

After all the festivities come to an end we congratulate one another and we take comfort in knowing we made it through another year.
