I’m a Moth
I have beaty eyes
I have wings to fly with
I’m similar to the butterfly but different
I am not as colorful
I have dull colors
Sometimes I’m white
Some species have bright colors
I develop in 4 stages
I also grow from a caterpillar
I depend on flowers for my food as a moth
I sometimes carry pollen from flower to flower.

I also feast on fruits like apples and pears.

Some moths known as clothing moths feast on clothing made of cotton and other fibers.

Moths have short lifespans as adults with some living only a few days and some living for a few weeks.

Moths do carry on the lifecycle so there are future generations.

Moths date back over 200 million years and there are approximately 160, 000 species.

Moths are insects and play a major role in the ecosystem.

They are generally solitary in nature with no real social structure.

Once they lay their eggs they do not take on a parental role like some insects do.

Ants and honeybees have complex social structures and interactions that moths lack.

If you see me flying in your closet please take care of your clothes as I’m known to nibble on them at times.
