Paroles de la chanson I’m a Goose par Emily Iannielli lyrics officiel

I’m a Goose est une chanson en Anglais

I’m a Goose
I’m a majestic bird

I love to spend time with my family and friends

We’re migratory birds and are found all over the world.

We fly in flocks.

When you see us take to the skies we form the shape of a V as we fly in V formation.

We’re quite sociable birds and make a distinctive honking noise when we communicate amongst each other.

Geese are monogamous birds and very family oriented mating for life with their partners.

Geese can be seen flying together in flocks of hundreds for short and long distances and have amazing skills of navigation and cooperating with one another as they fly to their respective destinations mapping them out.

In winter months geese fly to warmer climates but there are some that stay close to their native land despite the temperatures as long as they can tolerate the weather and temperature conditions.

Geese can fly 40 miles per hour and up to 70 miles per hour at their fastest providing they have a strong tail wind at their backs.

In such favorable weather conditions they can fly up to 1,500 miles in a day which is simply amazing.

Canadian geese are distinctive birds and can be seen in all provinces of Canada and all 48 contiguous states in America.

Their distinguishing features are a black head and neck with white cheeks and a brown body.

Geese have gravitated to neighborhoods and live among us while enjoying time at parks and beaches and waterways.

Pygmy geese are very small in size compared to other species of geese and some of the largest of geese are the Canadian goose and the African brown goose.

Geese have been domesticated over 7,000 years ago in what is now known as China and have been in existence for over 12 million years.

They have a long storied history and are the best adapted animals that share their lives with us.

They are truly amazing to see in flight and when they come in for landings.

There are many sayings we’re all familiar with referring to these magnificent birds such as

“Silly goose”

What a mother says affectionately to her child to get a smile or a laugh.

“What’s good for the goose is good for the gander”

What’s good for me is good for you.

“Your goose is cooked”

You’re in big trouble.

These are some expressions we’re all familiar with and makes reference to these lovely birds that have incredible and inspiring lives.

There are also the Mother goose rhymes that children have come to love.

Geese are free spirits that rule the skies and love their visits to many places and are known to venture to our neck of the woods as they come to share their lives with us.

Geese have a typical lifespan of 20 years with some living to 30 years and some only 10 years.

There are 20 species of geese in the world and they inhabit all continents with exception of Antarctica where it’s much to cold to support the life of geese.

A popular children’s movie that features a goose is “Jack in the beanstalk” where a young boy named Jack trades his cow for some magic beans that grow a giant beanstalk and in that beanstalk is a magical goose that lays golden eggs, a giant and a princess trapped and she can only be freed by a magic kiss.

Jack and his friend Jeremy discover all of this as they climb to the top.

Another film that features Canadian geese is “Those Calloways”, a Disney movie about a family in Vermont and their attempts at building a sanctuary for the Canadian geese on their seasonal migrations to their community over many years. It’s a heartwarming story and shows the relationship between these amazing birds and people who care for their wellbeing.

Another movie is the “Snow goose” which is a British film and tells a charming story about a young orphaned girl, a lighthouse keeper in a fishing village in Essex, England and an injured snow goose set at the beginning of WWII. The story is beautiful but sad as the lighthouse keeper is killed trying to help in the war effort.

As the girl is now an adult she is reunited with the snow goose and saves a painting the light house keeper had painted of her and the wounded snow goose back before the war and she realizes her love for her deceased friend killed during the war which gives special meaning to the painting.

Birds are truly special animals and geese amaze and inspire us and we must keep them protected as they come closer to our communities.

If you see me wandering around nearby please respect my boundaries and I will respect yours.

I’m just making my way in the world and I’m lucky I can walk around and fly.

I tend to enjoy the company of others.

I’m a goose.
