I admire people who do great things
And it’s all about how that’s defined
There’s people who perform great feats
Like authors of great books they write

There’s people who bring us special music
And amazing art of all kinds
There’s people who research genetics
And help all those mysteries unwind

It’s just you and me and our two kids
Writing the words to our own play
Singing our story to our own music
And trying to figure out technology
And when we’re giving what we all need
And all the love that it takes
We can look around and truly see
That we’re doing something great

We take pride in our own genetics
And we stand together as a family tree
We have breakthroughs in our feelings
And setbacks sporadically

We’re not in magazines or on TV
We’re not well-known outside our town
But we have everything we need
To spread lots of happiness around
