I let the connection between us define me
In a very scary and unhealthy way
I lost too much of my identity

Died a painful death with the loss of us
The parts of me that were vengeful
Have now vanished like blowing dust

The parts of me that were way too insecure
Felt better staying back with who we were
But the parts of me that are resilient and strong
Are now the foundation of me forever
