I know I can't do this forever…
So what do I do?
Do I lay here and get lost in the darkness so relentlessly persistent?
Do I bid me an adieu and let the blue skies fade to black and take me with it?

As I sit in this body that doesn’t belong to me
My mind goes into overdrive, remembering every time I closed my eyes and finally felt at peace…
So, why not indefinitely? (repeat, why not indefinitely?)
I know it's not supposed to be this way… but if all the strangers around me effortlessly dance in the rain then maybe I was just made to not be okay…

The lonely nights and silent cries and the hopelessness that begins to paralyze the mind to a point where it seems like myself and the end meet…

The sun creeps in through the window on the right day
The right hour
Right on time
And for a split second, it seems everything could (might) be alright // it might be alright
So then begs the question…

Do I stick around long enough to get lost in a dream world where everything starts to make a little more sense
And rip off the duct that I used to fix my wounds
And let the gashes become scars and acknowledge
That the stars shine brighter the darker the sky

Because the wires got a little crossed on my way here, I don't have a choice but to look past the mirror, it's the little things that keep me here.
It's the little things that keep me here.

Perhaps it's my superpower?
On a walk down west end, how pretty that little pink flower?
The car to my left sings at the top of their lungs in the middle of rush hour
And the thought of my people somewhere out there I have yet to encounter
It is my superpower

Finding beauty in the mundane
And being okay with not being okay
Because not every day is a good day but it does mean an even better one is on the way

And before I know it
I'm not choking on weed, I’m smelling the roses
I turn up the music and drown out the voices
Pick up the calls I spent too much time avoiding

And that's when I realized
I forgot to remember
It may take a little time but
It's never forever
