In 1930

Being daughter of two refugees
Who were fleeing from the Reds
She was already an immigrant
When the first light hit her head

Learning that she never could go back to find her roots
Her country had been occupied and her father killed by brutes

A blinding hate, a fair revenge,
A chance to stop the beast
The nazis had the high command
Placed him first line in their play
Her mother paid the highest price
When her son was blown away

She was only 15 years of age when nazis lost the war
Her hair was cut for brother's deed, she left for foreign shore

She had a chance to get a job,
Despite the treachery

Story lost and pictures burned

At night alone she talked to him, saw him like a wraith
Prayed for his forgiveness, extending him her faith

Her life was straight, her fortune good
She was liked by everyone
Devoted to her fellows' views
With empathy and fun

But degradation in her teens
Was like a sprouting seed
That stripped her of self-confidence
suppressing her own need

Exposed as nazi henchman when her head was shaven bald
She frightened all unpleasant stands, and when questioned always stalled

Through years she was a strong support
When friends and children grew
She was used to keeping secrets close
Not sharing what she knew

Fair penalty or destiny
To her it was the same
When she let a cancer spread and kill
the paler she became

She knew that death was closing in, afraid of what was next
The verdict written long ago she'll finally read the text
