September 8 today I feel insane
got too many thoughts on my brain
I'ma spill em out on the page
always saying I'm OK
hiding all my pain
the only way to feel better when it hurts
is to put it down in words

I'm a poet and a soldier
go-getter and a stoner
I'm walking barefoot on the city streets
laying awake when everybody sleeps
little broken when you look closer
best friend and a loner
in my feelings but I learn to be tough
33 but I'm still growing up
clways gonna be

feel stupid when it's easy
always gotta make it hard
I want everyone to see me
but I don't want to be the star
always feel like somethings missing
I'm a walking contradiction
Find the answers when I write it out
To remind myself
