An angel falls to the ground
Into a canyon a thousand meters deep
She spent her nights trying to climb out
Only to slip and fall when up so steep
She spent her days praying to God
To forgive what she never did
She never heard a reply
And her wings were to torn to heal to fly

The Canyon's desolate sandstone
From which no life was sustained
She'd hit a rock twice to make water flow
And eat the remnants of fallen man
The nights were the coldest she ever felt
As she shivered and climbed without warmth
The days refused to offer solace
So humidly hot, she could barely walk

She looked up and saw the blue sky
And green plants the more she climbed
The hope she'd get there kept her going
But every fall left her hope slowing
Eventually she decided she had enough
She wouldn't heal herself the next time she dropped
She disowned her healing grace
And made her way up on a lukewarm day
As she climbed higher and higher
This was the farthest she'd ever been
Hope reentered her tattered soul
She was just a couple meters from the world
She grabbed a vine to hoist herself up
But it ripped out and she slipped
Her life flashed before her eyes and soon
She felt
