This is about how nothing really ever lasts in life
Nothing is permanent on this Earth
This is a sad story of my baby

See I met my baby up in the hills of Pennsylvania
And man you know I saw her
I saw her face I looked into her eyes
And I knew I was going to be with her

Yeah you know I had my plans to go down south
She had her plans to go out west
But man when it came time to go
I said no way and so we went to New York City
Took a flight out west to Eugene Oregon
Went up the coast
Went up to Seattle
Went up to the San Juan Islands
We were sailing around loving each other
Rolling around on the grass laughing
Smiling and loving each other
It was beautiful so beautiful

And then we moved down to the Virgin Islands
Cause that’s where she was from
Yeah she had some stores there and some land and everything
So you know I played my music in a band
While she had her arts and crafts
Just loving in the beautiful Virgin Islands in the Caribbean
Yes a man you know the Caribbean scene man
You know that’s right brother
We all know the Caribbean
And the beauty of the land and the sea
But you know if you know the Caribbean man
You know there’s one thing about it is that man
It gets really hot out there
When it get to be about the end of April
So we would be heading up the coast man
We went up to California every summer that’s right
Then we’d even went up to Oregon
We went out to the desert in Nevada
Man you know just loving people
All the loving people
Just some kind of hippie type communities
Man we would be visiting all that you know
Always in harmony
Always in peace and love

But you know I remember the time
When we lived in the Caribbean
She would be coming home from her stores
I was always staying home and playing music and stuff
And I would be letting her in you know
When she would be knocking on the door
She would be coming in the evening time
And I would always be really excited and happy
I could hardly wait to let her in
But I always felt that maybe it wasn’t always going to stay like that
It wasn’t always going to stay like that you know
I always felt it man you know
It happened you know
It was in California in our other home
And I was reading outside and I was reading my book
And I just had this feeling like I had to go see her
Man like I had to go see her
Put my arms around her
I want to love her
I just want to say hey baby I love you baby
Hey everything is alright now
And I ran up the steps and I called her
But I didn’t see her and I didn’t know where she was
I looked in the bathroom and I found her
She was shot she was shot
She was shot in the head
She did herself in she did herself in
She shot herself
She killed herself
