My life's a jet it's flying faster than it seems

It's time to flashback
To a time when joy was in my back
Mom would pack the lunch and dad would call that shit a knapsack
Stare at phones and LED shoes saying I wish I had that (Y'all remember those?)
But as I'm getting older
And all my lists are fuller
Childhood's a warm up for this world that's getting colder
To support the adding weight on top of your shoulders
Life's a bitch who's beautiful that doesn't mean you'll control her
I know I'm now a loner
But when I was little my house was always where my friends came over
No stress no worries for us we were just little
Once upon a time ago life was so much more simple
Before I had this music shit imagination's running wild
Run around the cul de sac with all my friends for a while
Have them over for a meal
Then do it again that's a deal
I'm glad I had those memories up in my files
Jumping on the trampoline thinking we were bigger than it seems
Put the sprinkler under it that's only what a genius dreams
But they just had to end some time
But I'm still glad it was a fun time
