when I lie awake and dwell on dull thoughts
And the days when I am not really awake
But moving within a cloud

A cause to believe in
Or someone to hold
A purpose or reason
Some meaning untold

Feel like I’ve been searching way too long
What is it I’m even looking for?
Am I supposed to just guess it all

A direction to lean in
Some sign or clue
Just some kind of guidance
I just wish someone knew

How am I supposed to know what’s right or wrong
Who can show me the right path?
How can I find what really lies inside
