Oh swift did the day turn to night
And how I was tucked into bed without a fight

While some parents arrived there alone

How the many sighed a breath of relief

And the school let out early and the children all cheered

There will be an assembly at school
About how sometimes the world can be cruel
How the hell were the kids supposed to know
That the country they live in has to hang their head low
Does the second amendment still apply
If you're worried that your children might die
And the citizens worried that the government comes
To relieve them of privilege and to steal their guns
But is freedom still freedom if we carry that weight
