And how she always smiled
Mother of five
Back in college all the while
We never spoke often never thought when
We spoke through messages
Like we had more time
As time flies it was no surprise why
It's taken for granted when time is demanded
We're both parents but if I could be candid
I made excuses and still do still who
Could really tell what would happen to you
Looking through the door we still wait for you
I know the Father saved a place for you

Battled cancer and lived preaching five nights
At eighty five again and again
I never thought when
Playing dominoes
It would be the last time
As time flies it was no surprise why
It's taken for granted when time is demanded
You lived in Chicago but if I could be candid
I made excuses and still do still who
Could really tell what would happen to you

I know the Father could save our family too
