Strolled out the porch with my boots on tight
Moonlit sky had a devilish light
Spied a black cat slinkin' to the right
Knew that my night was gonna be a fright

Stepped on a crack and felt my spine shiver
Tripped on a pumpkin fell in the river
Climbed on out a scarecrow did deliver
A creepy old grin that made me quiver

On Halloween night the spooky tricks come alive

Witches and goblins makin' a beeline
Ain't no luck when black cats line the sky

Dropped my keys in a bale of stray hay
Hootin' owls sent those chills my way
Couldn't find my truck guess it walked away
Guess I'm stuck here till the break of day

Town's haunted parade gave me quite a surprise
Ghost parades and pie in the eyes
Candy stolen by those tricky guys
But I keep on walkin' with my head held high
