Across dusty roads he followed his track,
At an easy pace with a gun on his back.
His backpack was thin, he would have just one meal;
But he knew that way home was just unreal.

And all those last days seemed to us like the blazes;
We could see the death; it just followed our traces.
We wanted to fight to protect our folks,
But now on the inside the cruelty talks.

It’s better to burn than to feel humiliation;
We’ve fought for a month being in the isolation;
We asked to save us, but nobody heard us;
The missiles had fallen till the light touched the surface.

There was the fragment wound; he tightened his belt;
The shadow of the death that time we felt: we knew it,
Till the end of his life just one day’s left.

Trapped in the noose, so we couldn’t hold out there;
When the night came he resolved to regroup them.
Bombs have been planted, at dawn they’ll explode;
Now we are switched to the breakthrough mode.

The whisper of leafs and the grass he could feel.
He’d lost much his blood, but he wanted to live;
He’s fallen asleep, there’s no reason for grief.

So all his last pain seemed to him like the blazes; It
Just could be the death; it could call by its glances.
His way back home just couldn’t be taken;
He has fallen asleep and he can’t be awakened.

And he hasn’t been burnt and lived in humiliation;
And he was the last one in that isolation.
Our plan has worked, and we’ve heard the explosions; but
We haven’t been there, we survived those commotions.

And in the east the sun was rising with no haste;
Leaves sang their song softly ‘round that place. So his
Soul left the world for the upper space.
