Above the ground
Escaping from that 9-5
I’m in my dreams but I’m lucid so they feel so real
I’ve lost my mind as time is at a standstill
This is no life for me
And I’m feeling helpless
Working for 40 years
Is kind of endless
I’m struggling to see clear
Because I’m headless
We have been conditioned
Without our consent positioned
Poor ass proposition
For all those in our position
We grew up commissioned
To always fulfill the mission
To be a lawyer or a broker
Or even pediatrician
I don’t fit the mold
And I don’t plan on adjusting
Being like a sheep in a pack is pretty disgusting
You can’t tell me what to do because I own my destiny
If I followed what you asked you’d never get the best of me
Can’t you see
This life is just not for me
You may like the normalcy
But that to me is heresy
I can’t live in harmony
Cause what you’ve asked is harming me
Keeping me stagnant
Seeing others succeed
They broke out their mold
And now they’re planting their seed
They're traveling to nations
Across the sea
We’re being lied to
We’re told that we’re free
I disagree
Cause I can finally see
