There on Calvary, Christ was crucified
Nailed to a wooden cross he hung his head and died
They took him from that cross, while loved ones wept and moaned
Then placed him in a tomb and sealed it with a stone
But this fact holds true today,
The stone has been rolled away
There’s no one in that grave

So, Mary Magdalene and Mary mother of James
Barring their spices to his grave the women came
Early that Sunday morning they were wondering what to do
For his gravestone was far too great to move
But oh, were they surprised to find

An angel at the grave caused the women fear
The angel told the women Jesus is not here
Go and tell the others he has risen like he said
No need to seek the living here among the dead
