I saw Orion in the east,
Burning bright as long ago.

From the windows of my childhood home,
Dreaming dreams on winter nights,
I watched Orion as a girl,
Above another city's lights.

Years go by, dreams fade away,
Youth slips through our hands like sand,
The world's heart breaks beneath its wars,
But the stars still faithfully stand.

Walking through the silent streets,
Memories of days gone by,
The wars and struggles of the world,
Reflected in the midnight sky.

Time moves on, the world will change,
But some things stay the same,
In the east, the stars remain,
Through joy and grief, through peace and pain.
