There's a mixture of sorrow and joy - it's not either or
It's both and - receiving both from God's hand
The God-Man walked the land - well acquainted with grief
And even suffered under the same death He came to defeat
Teach me to number my days, Lord - I'm way more
Short-sighted then, I'd like to admit
This life is brief but the case that I carry
Is like I'm preparing to overstay my welcome - extended
When it rains it pours, did you send it? Or did it fall
For no reason? Random cycles and seasons
I'm tryna not to grow weary (Of good)
Even with so many sorrows near me
Serving as a shepherd, I know I'm not the chief one
The Lord is my Shepherd - that's where I get my peace from
This world in its present form will be destroyed
But in the presence of the Lord, there is fullness of joy

Joy without sorrow is a joy that's untested
And sorrow without joy feels like a death wish
The gospel still sounding sweet to these ears of mine
With each year behind, the more I long for the finish line
Faith tested and refined with more depth to it
Now, the future looking bright as I step to it
Been through a few storms, can't say I slept through it
But my hope was spoken of in the Septuagint
God's creation was good, but we ruined it
Jesus came and died for the rebels & the hooligans
Rose from the grave, heaven and earth, now He's ruling it
And when He comes back, He's making all things new again
That's a promise God's people are included in
I"m broadcasting good news, whose tuning in?
I can give it to you but what you gonna do with it?
Repent and believe the gospel y'all
