It's cold out,
The winter wind is bitter,
But under his woolly hat
The boy dreams of sugarplums,
Mince pies and frothy hot chocolate.

The moon is out.
The twinkling Christmas lights
Are bright and cheery
As the boy checks the words of the carol.
And with a voice of an angel sings.

Season's greetings,
Good will to all men, near and far.
The village stops and listens.
The star at the top of the tree beams bright
On the growing crowd,

Snow in the air,
Frost on the ground,
Breath showing in the lamplight.
Young eyes glance at the baby in the stable
And the boy registers the meaning and smiles.

It's cold out
But warm inside his heart.
Santa is on the way.
Roasting chestnuts by the village hall.
Then it's home to bed with hopes of wishes come true.
