A young boy riding a bike for the first time
His father is running behind
The boy doesn't know that he's all on his own
Riding on and feeling fine
But he falls down and cries
As he looks up at his father's eyes
His father says

Son hold me a minute and wipe all those tears away

No matter if it's night or day

The young man comes home early
He had a fight with his girl that day
Come home drying the tears from his eyes
Doesn't know what to say
And he falls down and cries
