The scene, the community
Or whatever you call this
Gathering of friends
Shared values
Rooted in empathy
No one is perfect but we strive for the light
The light that we search
The warmth that we long for Greenhouse of care
Greenhouse we share
Then they come
Mistook what we built
Empty dances
Drained hearts wither
They're here to break
We're here to construct
We can plant empathy that someday will grow
Watered with patience, and belief in what was built
Hoping for the day that garden will bloom
Garden of us, from the soil of yesterday
Will bear the fruit of tomorrow
Sweet fruit of tomorrow
From the dead trees of yesterday Sweet fruit of tomorrow
From the soil of our mistakes
What will happen
To this seed
If not planted in the soil
Of our mistakes?
But what will bloom
From this seed
If the soil is dull and dry?
