Crawl out of my bed
Singing the same old sad songs
I step on a slug
It pops underneath my foot

What did the poor thing
Do to deserve such an ending?
I run to the bathroom and I hoist my foot in the sink

Step out on the street
The sun rays bounce off my eyelids
People on springboards stare at the state of my shoes
I run my hand through my hair
To take out the cobwebs
Attempt a star jump
And the child stares at me like a fool
