Someone who’s been part of my life since 21

That’s the first time I’ve said it out loud

See I grew up not knowing I had I had dad
It was me and my mam she gave me all she had
She worked two jobs and took care of me
Built me a home with a lot of happy memories

But that all changed when my dad came around
Our happy home it became a battleground

See my dad he wasn’t well he had a lot of problems
My mam thought she could help thought that she could solve them
But in reality she couldn’t stay
When I was born it wasn’t safe she had to run or get

You should have seen my mam that day a part of her died
