I don't know what I was thinking
I was out of my mind
And I don't mean on booze or drugs
It's just a general state of mine
It's a sign of the times
Everyone is confused
Trying to identify
And I for one don't know where I've been
Or where I'm going in this life

I don't feel like I belong in this place, to this race
Tell me where have all the real people gone?
You won't find them here
They're somewhere out there
In the real world

I haven't been myself for so very long
So much time looking at this damn phone
Man I really know what's going on
I don't play any gigs or jam anymore
I watch it all from my home
I still smoke cigs and read the newspaper
It leaves me out on my own
