We crossed the highway in the headlights in the spring of 95
Big truck killed all of my sisters and brothers my mother and I survived
Down the river to Swan Valley we crossed below the Palisades
Travelin' in the shadows of the moonlight we disappeared above the Greys

She got trapped there by a rancher and in a moment she was gone

I took the weak ones from the elk herd sank my fangs deep in their throats

To the peaks just south of Dubois I took refuge close to town
I had to face a mama Grizzly then the bastards ran me down
Where the Dry Fork disappears again one big black and his gray son
To the edges of the granite cliffs is were I made my last run
