Late august rain on the town
I was looking for a shelter
That's when I saw this small house
Destroyed by time and by weather
On the porch there were a sign
Saying "here lived a soldier"
On the walls the ivy climbed
I knew I had to enter
The old wooden floor
Was cracking under my steps
And under the dust
Were lying some pages
So I stepped into a world
Where everything was meant by words
And my eyes caught a little star
Drawn in the byline
It was 1941
Two lost souls stuck in time
They were fighting their hearts
In the very front line
It was watching the stars
Between two fire shots
And they swore to themselves
They'll stay brothers in arm
"James was joking by the war
I was worried by the weather
How could someone shine so bright when all I see is blood
He talks about his wife
And how much he loves her
And if he survives
He'll become a painter
But the days go by
And he's terrified
