Dear little me, you were timid
You were cautious of the world and people in it
But you were free to be creative
You would think of an idea and then you'd make it

You were delicate when people hurt your feelings
You would cry it out but then you'd be okay
You wrote stories with your brother coloring with every hue
And I'm who I am because of you

Dear teenage me, you were so smart
You got only A's and B's you worked so hard
But you made time to see your best friends
You spent hours at the mall laughing with them

You didn't make it through your first three way phone call
All that drama taught you a thing or two
But even through everything you found people who were true
And I'm who I am because of you

Twenties me, you bloomed in many ways
You chose a life of music and you gave your love away
And there was some heartbreak
But I learned from your mistakes

Now thirties me can see it clearly
After all the good and bad and in between
I'm still me creative and smart
Sometimes timid but I have a really big heart

I teach little ones who make me think of myself
They are taking in the world day by day
If there's anything I wish that they take away it's this
Make sure to love yourself through and through
Always speak your mind and your truth
