I got a story that I'd really like to share
about a time I didn't know this and I thought we were a pair
baby all this time you needed space I couldn't tell
thought we matched the pace of one another
classic case of oil on water
Once upon a time we were merrymen
it's hard to think that there'd come a time when we were barely friends
and I ain't even fully traumatized, think I'm nearly there
know you lied then I lied but I wish you very well
If you want loyalty
command the process by being loyal yourself
oh you say you want royalty
when you can't control the impulses in your head
we tried to give love and peace
all we did instead was create memories
most of which we now regret
you used to be my melody, now I'm outchea making melodies
that I know you won't forget
We were the people of our dreams, didn't even have to sleep
it was like a melody I thought of all that we could be
if I had tears, man I'd fill a couple seas
all that I truly feared it turned out it really did exist
I'm too sad to even be pissed, I'm still basking in defeat
rest in pieces like I kicked a damn bucket I'm deceased
And I guess ignorance is bliss
but I know I speak for both of us, I'm glad that we could be
they say our loved ones live on through our memories
well if that's the case then please explain why every time I think of you
I die a little more inside of me
why's the worst pain so hard to reach?
life appreciates the irony
I've been trapped inside the memories
but I have to do what's best for me
Try to be the best that I can be
I don't plan to rest until I'm free
free from the cell of poverty
Free from pain and sadness
free from fear and anxietyy
that's a spot for me
music saved my life or I'd be lost at sea
so I spend my whole life making melodies
hope you get a message and this feels like therapy
know a lil too much about the pain
I know your life wasn't so great then it started getting worse
I know you always frustrated and feel better when you curse
if you still don't know no better this is more than just a verse
I know who you are

all of that damage made us who we are
