Feeling enlightened but now losing sight of reason the search for enlightenment started and now you’re lost again

The senses are heightened but I have no right to be feeling a thing that’s what apathy brings and it’s gnawing at my brain

So disenchanted with your lack of chances but always the first to remember the worst times are only but a breath

I’m pulling my last trick and hoping that that sticks but really my eggs were
Never in a basket I left them out with the hens

And singing some praises puts smiles on some faces so why would you faze out the giving of praise when it’s such a little thing?

Sometimes the essence of this incandescence is somewhat less pleasant with no effervescence but I’ll take what I can get

So out of guilt I reset, a hornets nest is best left, they cannot sting what they can’t find
If I could be a poor relation to these guys I’ve admired all my life

Seeing the smile on that little girls face replaced with a look that cannot be mistook and it makes you look away

Taking a rest, maybe hope for the best is it salvation, or a misguided notion, I don’t know which I prefer
