Three Humble Shepherds est une chanson en Anglais
Once there were three humble shepherds
Watching their flocks at night
Then “DO NOT FEAR” an angel appeared
Shining with brilliant light
He spoke of good news and a baby boy
Then a choir filled the sky
With knees a-knocking, it was shocking
The shepherds were scared they’d die
On their way to Bethlehem
Three wide-eyed, terrified
Humble shepherds
“Let’s go see the baby” one shepherd said
Down in Bethlehem
But the crazy sight of an angel choir
Had disoriented them
They all set off in different ways,
To meet the new-born king
They were in a hurry, feet all a-flurry
They were tripping over everything
On their way to Bethlehem
Three stumbling, bumbling, wide-eyed, terrified
Humble shepherds
Without care they raced ahead
They were in quite a rush
One tripped over a rock, one ran into the flock
One ended up in a bush
They picked up bruises and picked up dirt
Ended up in need of a good scrub
Crumpled in a heap, tangled up in sheep
Or head first in a shrub
On their way to Bethlehem
Three dirty, hurt-y, stumbling, bumbling, wide-eyed, terrified
Humble shepherds
Well they reached the town and saw the folks
All walking round real nice
With shoes that didn’t smell of poos
And clothes not filled with lice
They searched the town all the through the night
To find the new Messiah
They didn’t smell of flowers, they were at it for hours
And they soon started to tire
On their way to Bethlehem
Three blinkin’, stinkin’, dirty, hurt-y, stumbling, bumbling, wide-eyed, terrified
Humble shepherds
They finally arrived, here to see a King
In such a sorry state and no present did they bring
Three humble shepherds, why did they think that they’d be welcome
To come and meet a Saviour, to stand before God’s son
Yet when it comes to meeting Jesus, you will find
His birth is a reason for joy to all mankind
It doesn’t matter what you look like, how you smell or where you’ve been
Jesus would love to meet you, so why don’t you come in
Even if you are
Three blinkin’, stinkin’, dirty, hurt-y, stumbling, bumbling, wide-eyed, terrified
Humble shepherds
