Breathing in the air that touched the fences.
The breeze that knows the outworld, feel me awe.
I’ve been left inside in a hole to hide.
And these lungs forgot that wind can mend the senses.

The bars that penned me in have brought much comfort.
They’ve kept outside
the cheers and pride.

This hungry crowd can stare and feed this limbo,
because I’ve had my time.
With applause, I greet this fallen climb.

As if all these guests will go home.
As if at these scars they’ll spurn all.

A hand ahead, and a ground to head.
A bed of nails, and a hollow hole to follow.

Breathing in the smoke that hailed the menace.
The call that brings the outworld to us all.
Still, I’m left inside in a hole to hide.
But the hope to test these bars came back much clearer.

The fog that settled in paints clear the picture.
No bars in sight,
just a foul white.

Though, who am I to dare to stand for reason?
I don’t trust the eye.
I don’t trust the one that sells the sky.

Bury the hope and stay home.
Skip all the strife and stoop low.

Would you have faced the doubt? Would you have bent the bars with hurry?
Would you have built a gate, and left the guests to eat the fury?
Would you refuse to play the game you set yourself as jury?
Would you have ever changed anything?

Hoping to fake the outtake,
to sail towards a new quake
and remain awake.

And winds, warm. A hide so unbruised.
Pears untold and plums few,
they’ve fed my mistake.

In my own recess, am I too the noise to my old torrent?
Am I to escape willingly from this idle cage?
