In fairy tales and magic
Cinderella, Peter pan
And Brothers Grimm classics
Used to look at the world
with innocence and such wide eyes
Used to twirl my long blonde hair
As my young self took in these lies
To all the men I've never forgotten
To all the lovers I never had
Are love songs overrated
Relying on false hopes is kind of sad
So to all the lovers I never had
To all the scribbled hearts in my note pad
I will wait with diligence and patience
For a change in my downhearted situation
Now don't get me wrong I can be on my own

Though if I got a partner by waiting a while
I think I could spare a smile

Where the girl gets prince at the end of the story
A happy ending would be quite nice
Though real life would suffice
