I sit at my piano where I play at 3rd and Beale
trying to think of a song to play that their hearts can feel.
The tip jar seems so empty at the end of the night,
but when the show is over, it's so good to know you tried.

So play a song to remember about the love I've found,
their's one who can heal the troubles around us, fill our lives with joy,
a song about Jesus and how He pulled me through,
on a street east of the river, where I learned to sing about You.

The panhandlers are restless, beg you for a dime,
they wait outside the doors, just like their dreams they left behind,
they turn to the bartender, whose pouring drinks to get by,
We need only the love of Jesus, to see the world through their eyes
