It’s far too easy to remember all the things that have gone wrong
Sometimes all we can see is the darkness
So, for now I’d like to take some time and leave that all behind
And recall some of the gifts I’ve forgotten
And will all my heart
I want to thank you for the dawn
For times I’ve felt good and for times that I’ve smiled
And for anyone who gave me a chance
Or wished me good luck
Or made me feel welcome
I know that there’s more in the world than I can ever hope to change
Perhaps a little reflection is all we need
To find the spark of light inside
And keep the darkness from taking a hold of our lives
We always have control of the way we see the world
It’s not the hidden helping hands that we’ll remember
Lately I’ve come to realize that what you have given me
Means so much more, so much more than I could ask for
So, for that and more
I’d like to thank you for my dreams
For all the words that have made me feel loved
For the times I’ve known joy
And the hands held in silence
And when you’ve let me know
Everything will be alright
