Sakura

Infinite sojourns under countless trees, Sakura brings her back, back to me
She lay ‘neath the Cherry Tree, red-haired girl at 16, spellbound, spellbound
Branches swirl, from Sakura, spreading arms, holding blossoms, floating seeds into her wandering mind
For just we two, the pink against the blue, the pink against the blue
                                                           
Cherry Blossoms explode across the sky
And the fading memories of hollow columns, floating down
Masks couldn’t hide the past or the roads ahead
Drumbeat of hearts together and the music of the flame, and the music of the flame
 
She saw to learn and learned to see 
While blooms may last for just a week, Sakura was ours to make,  
Floating in petal ballet on an endless lake, on an endless lake
