There His splendor met my squalor. My rejection met His Grace

How He threw His arms around me and pulled me in so tight
His embrace was like a rainstorm to a desert dead and dry
And all my lack and my affliction went spilling out from both our eyes
Mine because I ain't been living. His because I was alive

A pair of sandals on my blistering feet and called to kill the calf
So I could feast instead of hunger. So I could drink instead of thirst
