About the greatness of God and His abilities
Giving me strength while I maintain stability
At times I often swear, yes I am a sinner
I have fell short, my chances got thinner
Guilty of backsliding, brought shame upon myself
I called out to God because I've needed help
He reached inside my soul and turned my life around
I'm smiling nowadays, no longer will I frown
Even though my so-called friends turned their backs and deserted me
He remained by my side, took away the hurt in me

I was surrounded by pain, surrounded by hurt
Surrounded by people who've treated me like dirt
Surrounded by greed, surrounded by lust
Surrounded by people who I couldn't even trust
Surrounded by hatred, got my name scandalized
I was physically and mentally vandalized
I've seen events that've confused and bewildered me
And through it all, it was He who delivered me
He took me as I am, no makeovers involved
Any problems I have, best believe it's solved
God's in control, he has a game plan
His love and concern made me a better man
I'm walking around with God's love in my heart
It won't disentegrate, it will never fall apart
Yes, the Lord is real, He's very far from phony
