The Church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord
She is a new creation in water and the Word
From heaven he came and sought her to be his holy bride
With his own blood he bought her and for her life he died
To every church a question: who are you at the heart?
Keep ever close to Jesus his love is end and start
With loving at your center, faith has the space to grow
Until in sweet surrender, each seeking soul shall know
And who are you at the fringes, at the place you touch the world?
Do hands reach out in service, or close with fingers curled?
Are the ones you see God’s children, or just the enemy?
O Church come back to Jesus, come see what Jesus sees
Yes, we on Earth have union with God the three in one
And mystical communion wherever love has sprung
O happy ones and holy, Lord give us grace that we
