While heading home, the group passed a traveling carnival parading their animals down the street
They saw lions, fowl, horses, tortoises, elephants, kangaroos, fish, rabbits, and even aviary creatures
They were followed by a band of bards
This wonderful display of animals put the group in awe, but they soon realized that they had not eaten in a while
We should go to the King's Canteen
Dobie suggested
It was getting dark, and the gang was worried about making it in time for closing, but they headed over regardless
The trio arrived at the King's Canteen very near to closing time
but they aggrieved to serve our adventurers food with the ingredients that they had not yet put away
While the cook was finishing up the group's meal, a gang of barbarians came busting through the door
Are you still open
One of them yelled, as these barbarians had clearly had too much meat to drink
Yes, but only if you get what we have
Echoing her response to Dobie, Herman, and Wilbur
The group all gave each other a look, as they knew that they were still feeling the effects of the magical potions
and the attention of these barbarians was the last thing that any of them wanted
With their food wrapped and ready to go, the trio headed back to Dobie's home
excited about their meal, and concluding their day out
